About Our Deputy

Donald R. Heldman (Dick), 33°, was born January 10th, 1959, in Cambridge, Ohio the son of Donald G. and Delores E. Heldman.  His father and maternal grandfather were members of Cambridge Lodge No. 66, and his father was a member of The Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge.  His mother was a member of Guernsey Chapter O.E.S. No. 211. His paternal grandfather was a member of Harmar Lodge No. 390 in Marietta, Oh.

He married Susan L. Perry in 1986 and they have one daughter Kristen (Randy Porter) and two grandsons, Cole and Drew.  In 1998 they relocated from Cambridge to the Akron/Kent area where they currently reside.

In 1979 Dick received a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Zane State College. Like his father and paternal grandfather Dick has worked in the oil & gas industry for 45 plus years and is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association.  He has served in various capacities for several Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Companies throughout the Appalachian Basin, but his chosen area of expertise is oil & gas production.  In 2000 he and Susan formed Asset Management, Inc., an oil & gas production company operating primarily in Northeastern Ohio.

Brother Heldman was raised a Master Mason in Cambridge Lodge No. 66, in 1992. He served as Worshipful Master 1995-96.  He also served as a Trustee and Chaplain until relocating to Northeast Ohio.  In 2016 he joined Rockton Lodge No. 316 in Kent, OH as a plural member.

In 1992 Brother Heldman joined the A.A.S.R Valley of Cambridge.  He served as Thrice Potent Master 2004-2006.  He served on the Executive Committee from 2004-2014 and as Chairman from 2010-2014.  He was the director of the 14th degree from 2006-2014 and has participated in the 4th, 14th, 23rd and 32nd degrees. He was also an officer in Guernsey Consistory until he was elected an Active Member of The Supreme Council for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. He is a charter member of The Valley of Gallipolis.

On August 30, 2005, he was coronated a 33°, Sovereign Grand Inspector General and Honorary Member of the Supreme Council, NMJ in Grand Rapids, MI.  On August 23, 2014, he was crowned an Active Member of the Supreme Council in Lexington, MA.

In 2019 he was appointed as Grand Captain General of the Supreme Council. He currently serves on the Administrative Council, and as the Secretary for the Board of Directors of the Children’s Dyslexia Centers, Inc.

In 2021 he was elected Deputy of the Supreme Council for Ohio, and as such is Commander-in-Chief of the Ohio Council of Deliberation. He currently serves on the following Supreme Council committees: Governance, Investments, Media and Communications and is currently the Chairman of the Finance Committee.
